Take care of yourself; yoga will follow. Forming an intention and approaching your practice with CLARITY will get you started. Keeping your ATTENTION on your breath during meditation and yoga takes practice, and deep attended breaths lead directly to RELAXATION and EASE in your body.

"Yoga is not about self-improvement; it's about self-acceptance"

-Gurmukh kaur khalsa

The main type of yoga I teach is Hatha yoga and the teaching style that has been pioneered by Iyengar yoga. Its main characteristic is the precise physical alignment of each posture. I am adept at dealing with injuries and physical problems. Various shaped blocks, bolsters, belts, blankets and other props are used to assist posture practice. You learn asana first and then progress to breathing techniques.

During my Teacher Training in Ireland, I learned and witnessed the amazing effects mindfulness, meditation and yoga has on mind, body, and soul. There are so many benefits from practicing yoga, each one individual to each person. I would like to share with you what I have experienced from my daily practice of meditation and yoga, and hope you join me in my classes to see the benefits for yourself.

Breathing is the essence of life - Our most vital nutrient

After working out in gyms all my life and pushing my body to its limits, I finally found the amazing feeling of the synchronization of the breath and movement of the body. Now when I practice “Vinyasa” flow which is the continuity of movement in and out of poses I feel the positive benefits of the breath. Through practicing yoga I have learned to be patient and present in everything I do. I have learned that thought is either the past or the future and the breath in the present.

I have learned to face life’s challenges with a relaxed mind which gives me a clear vision. I have gained physical and mental strength. I have learned to realise that if you are depressed you are living in the past, if you are anxious you are living in the future and if you are at peace you are living in the present. Most of all I have learned the most powerful force in life. Compassion, forgiveness, and love in everything I do.

Your body speaks your mind. Each day I feel different, my body never feels the same. Sometimes I get into a pose and feel the subtle reactions that were not there yesterday and find it harder to hold the pose. What's going on in my body is a reflection of what's going on in my mind. Yoga has thought me to listen to my body and become aware of my thoughts. As I flow into each pose with a relaxed body not forced, my mind becomes clear. I feel a sense of peace which I share with others. The more inner peace I find the more peace surrounds me.

Yoga has given me the most effective sleeping pill – Peace Of Mind.
